Alessandro Lupo was born in Turin in 1876. Enrolled in the faculty of law, at the same time as the courses held at the Accademia Albertina, he attended the studio of the painter Vittorio Cavalleri. He made his debut at the Turin Society of Fine Arts in 1901 with three impressions from life that won the favor of critics and the public. He therefore participated in the Turin Quadrennial of 1902 and 1906, in the annual exhibitions of the Promoter and the Circolo degli Artisti and in numerous national and international public exhibitions. In 1914 he appeared at the Salon des Artistes in Lyon and, on several occasions, at the Paris Salon.

A versatile artist, he was the author of alpine views, market views and landscapes with horses. He painted in Piedmont, in the Aosta Valley, in Lombardy, in Capri, in Venice and on the island of Ponza. In 25 he held a personal exhibition in Genoa with forty-five works, mostly studies and impressions from life performed in Gressoney La Trinité as Morning laundryLast rays e Gorgeous weather. In May 33 in an exhibition at the Bottega d'Arte in Livorno he presented almost a hundred paintings, including the characteristic ones Markets, which met with great success. He died in Turin on June 22, 1953.
